On February 18, 2022, Lang Son Geopark Management Board in collaboration with Lang Son Provincial Youth and District Youth Unions in Lang Son Geopark organized a Forum "Youth accompanies the construction and development of Lang Son Geopark”.

The forum took place to propagate the policy and meaning of establishing, constructing and developing Lang Son Geopark, the role, position, importance and significance of geological and cultural heritages, biodiversity and environmental protection in Lang Son Geopark; help youth unions better understand UNESCO Global Geoparks, UNESCO Global Geoparks Network, Asia Pacific Global Geoparks Network, Viet Nam Global Geoparks Network.

Besides, the representatives of the Youth of five districts introduced an overview of the potentials and strengths of the districts in Lang Son Geopark (cultural heritages, geological features, biodiversity, tourism products, agriculture and forestry, cuisine, services of restaurants, hotels, homestays, traditional craft villages,...); assess difficulties and challenges for the construction and development of the Geopark in the locality; presented “Initiatives/projects on information, propaganda, promotion, educational models/programs, raising public awareness, preserving and promoting geological and cultural heritages and tourism, branding and enhancing of key agro-forestry products, handmade souvenirs or community projects in Lang Son Geopark".

The forum was held successfully, contributing to propaganda and raising awareness of the province's young generation about geo-heritage, Lang Son Geopark, upholding the sense of responsibility for sustainable socio-economic development in the districts of Lang Son Geopark in particular and Lang Son province in general, meeting the criteria of UNESCO for a Global Geopark "transfer of knowledge and management experience for the young generation”.
