Within the framework of activities under the Plan to survey the current status of heritage, tourist sites and working with relevant agencies and units in Lang Son Geopark, the Management Board of Lang Son Geopark worked with Hoang Van Thu Secondary School, Binh Gia district on school projects in Lang Son Geopark in 2023. Attending and chairing the meeting was Mrs. Pham Thi Huong, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Lang Son Geopark; Officials of the Management Board; Mrs. Hoang Thi Nguyet, Principal of Hoang Van Thu Secondary School; Board of Directors, representatives of teachers and students who won the fist prize at the Contest about Geo-Heritage and Lang Son Geopark in 2022

         At the meeting, Mrs. Pham Thi Huong informed results achieved in the educational activities to raise public awareness in schools in 2022; introducing about Lang Son Geopark and UNESCO Global Geoparks. She highly appreciated the efforts of Hoang Van Thu Secondary School at the Contest about Geo-Heritage and Lang Son Geopark in 2022; thereby contributing to building and developing Lang Son Geopark towards being recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark. The school's students introduced the idea of community projects in Lang Son Geopark in 2023 such as establishing a Then Singing Club with Chau dancing, a Lion Cat Dancing Club at the school; a project proposal to create space for Lang Son Geopark at the school.

According to the school student representative, the plan to open the Then Singing Club, Chau Dancing and Lion Cat Dancing is the desire of the students in the school based on the cultural background that are available in Binh Gia district. Currently, in the district, there are a number of clubs that have been established and operated. Moreover, a number of students in the school have passion for playing Đàn Tính and they know how to play it, so this project is very feasible. For the space model of Lang Son Geopark at school, this is a new opportunity for students to be creative in building projects, designing space and using space as a learning tool to practice and improve presentation skills.

Mrs. Hoang Thi Nguyet, Principal of Hoang Van Thu Secondary School said that Board of Directors and teachers of the school fully supports the students' initiatives. The school will accompany students to develop an implementation plan. She hopes that the Geopark model will be completed before the new school year of 2023-2024. For the Then singing and Chau dancing club, the school will have a plan to operate and replicate attracting participants, thereby raising the awareness of pupils about the cultural of Lang Son Geopark in general and those of Binh Gia in particular".

On the basis of the project proposals, the participants discussed and agreed to support the Model of building the Then Singing Club and the Lion Cat Dancing Club at the school, contributing to preserving and promoting  Then singing of the Tay and the Nung ethnic groups - a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage of humanity as well as the cultural value of folk performances of Lion Cat dancing in Lang Son province in general and in Binh Gia district in particular; considering to create the space for Lang Son Geopark at the school in order to raise awareness and understanding of students at the school and local people in about Lang Son Geopark. Moreover, this is also regarded as a model for students to practice the roleplay of a tour guide about Lang Son Geopark to people and delegates visiting the school on special occasions.

Working activities with high schools, secondary schools and primary schools of the Management Board of Lang Son Geopark have well received the attention and coordination of schools and agencies in Lang Son Geopark.
