On July 11, 2022, within the framework of the meeting to evaluate the results of the first six months of the year, to implement the tasks of the last six months of 2022 of the Steering Committee for Construction of Lang Son Global Geopark, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed a coordination program to promote propaganda and education on Geoparks in schools for the period 2022-2025 with the Department of Education and Training. Witnessing the Signing Ceremony were Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Construction of Lang Son Global Geopark, members of the Steering Committee, leaders and officials of Lang Son Geopark Management Board.

Signing the coordination program between the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Education and Training

       Purpose of the coordination program to promote propaganda and education on Geoparks in schools for the period 2022-2025:

      - Effectively implement the coordination between the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in implementing the assigned tasks in the Scheme on establishment, construction and development of Lang Son Geopark in the period 2021-2022.

        - Organizing propaganda activities, raising awareness, roles and responsibilities contributing to the construction and development of Lang Son Geopark for officials, teachers and students in the whole sector.

       - Providing more knowledge about culture, society, science and foreign languages, soft skills for students to enhance the ability to relate and apply learned knowledge in practice, contributing to improving quality of teaching and learning in schools.

    - Raising awareness of officials, teachers, employees, students and pupils about domestic, regional and global issues being faced such as environmental pollution, climate change, loss of tangible and intangible cultural forms, geological heritage, natural landscape; meeting UNESCO's criteria for educating the younger generation about cultural, historical, geological and biodiversity heritages for a Geopark, thereby joining hands to respond to activities that benefit the community, society.

      - Building and developing a team of propaganda collaborators; improving the effectiveness of communication and promotion for Lang Son Geopark to local communities and tourists.

   - Strengthening the participation of schools in international integration and cooperation, participating in activities of Global Geoparks Network (GGN), Asia – Pacific Global Geoparks Network, Vietnam Global Geoparks Network.
