The delegation of Lang Son province had a study tour to learn about experiences in building and developing Geoparks in Ha Giang and Cao Bang provinces.
May 23 to 28, 2022, the delegation of Lang Son province led by Mr. Hoang The Vinh, Deputy Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of Lang Son Geopark Management Board; leaders of Culture and Information Division of districts: Bac Son, Binh Gia, Chi Lang, Huu Lung, Van Quan; leaders and officials of Lang Son Geopark Management Board had a study tour to learn about experiences in building and developing Geoparks in Ha Giang and Cao Bang provinces.
In Ha Giang province, the delegation worked with Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark Management Board, exchanged experiences on building and developing of Geoparks, completing the Dossier to submit to UNESCO for recognition of the Global Geopark; promoting the signing of cooperation agreement; visiting and learning experiences at Information Center of districts: Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van under Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark Management Board; surveying the model of Mong Village Resort in Quan Ba district, heritage sites in Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark such as Fairy Mountains in Quan Ba district and Mong traditional houses, the architecture of Vuong Dynasty Relic, Ancient house of Giay Ma Le people, Lung Cu flagpole, the Kart Plateau Museum of Ethnic Cultures in Dong Van district, Ma Pi Leng Pass (connecting Dong Van district - Meo Vac district), Information Center of Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province.
In Cao Bang province, the delegation participated in a training course for the Vietnam Geopark Network organized in Cao Bang city by Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark Management Board; made a field trip to heritage sites in Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark: Lang Mon Ancient Coral (Ha Lang district), Hoai Khao Community Tourism Village, Dragon Back Landscape, Kolia Tea Plantation (Nguyen Binh district); attended and spoke at the Annual Meeting of the Specialized Subcommittee on Viet Nam Global Geoparks, signed a cooperation agreement between Lang Son Geopark Management Board (Lang Son province), Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark Management Board (Ha Giang province), Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark Management Board (Cao Bang province), received the Rotary Flag to organize the 2023 Annual Meeting of the Specialized Subcommittee on Viet Nam Global Geoparks.
The delegation had a successful working visit to Ha Giang and Cao Bang provinces, contributing to increasing participation in Vietnam Global Geopark Network, learning experiences of other provinces in building and developing Geoparks.
