World Environment Day (June 5) was launched by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). It is an event that has been responded to and held annually since 1982 by Viet Nam. Activities in response to World Environment Day have become a worldwide movement and all regions in Viet Nam, contributing to raising people's awareness of environmental protection and biodiversity preservation, sustainable development and response to climate change.

     World Environment Day 2022 has the theme "Only One Earth" to convey the message of jointly building a sustainable lifestyle, in harmony with nature; rationally using natural resources, biodiversity and responding to climate change through policies and activities towards a cleaner and greener lifestyle. It requires each organization and individual to join hands and take concrete and practical actions for nature and the Earth.

     In Lang Son, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment selected Huu Lung district - one of five districts in Lang Son Geopark to hold the launching ceremony in response to World Environment Day 2022. It aims to continue to raise awareness, roles and responsibilities of organizations, individuals and communities on environmental protection by taking specific actions such as proactively implementing solutions to improve environmental quality, protect people's health; develop economy associated with environmental protection, climate change adaptation; build a roadmap to collect, classify and treat waste; building and replicating effective models, promoting sustainable consumption and protecting the environment; formulating and organizing the implementation of strategies, tasks, schemes and projects on environmental protection; based on functions, tasks and actual conditions, organize community activities such as cleaning up the environment, planting trees, promoting propaganda on not using non-biodegradable plastic bags and disposable plastic products; producing and using environmentally friendly products… Thereby, it helps protect and improve the environment in the province to be increasingly green - clean - beautiful.

     Right after the launching ceremony, the Organizing Committee held a propaganda parade; planting trees, cleaning, collecting waste at some roads; releasing fish Nong Dung lake, Dong Lam tourist area, Huu Lien commune, Huu Lung district. Thereby, it has contributed to the regeneration of aquatic resources, protecting biodiversity and the environment
