Attending the Conference "International cooperation to promote the value of Geopark heritage and sustainable tourism in Phu Yen province"
On July 23, the People's Committee of Phu Yen Province coordinated with the Institute of European Studies (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences) and the FNF Foundation (Germany) to organize a conference “International cooperation to promote the value of the geopark heritage and sustainable tourism in Phu Yen province”. Attending the conference were leaders of Department of Cultural Affairs and UNESCO (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), representatives of the Secretariat and the Specialized Subcommittee of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, and international experts the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network (GGN); Leaders of Geopark Management Boards of Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Dak Nong and Lang Son provinces.

At the conference, the Geopark Management Boards of Ha Giang, Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces shared experiences in building and developing Geoparks, difficulties and challenges in the process of geopark management; participants shared scientific reports on the geopark heritage of Phu Yen province conducted by the international team of experts in 2019 and the national-level scientific research team in 2021-2022.

The leader of Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee delivered a speech emphasizing the role of international cooperation in promoting the potentials and strengths of the locality and determining the goal of building Phu Yen Geopark in order to contribute to creating a breakthrough for the international economic integration, connecting Phu Yen with partners in the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network.
