Journey of Healing and Discovery: Towards a Land of Serenity

Lang Son Pilots "Journey of Healing and Discovery: Towards a Land of Serenity" Tour – A New Direction for Cultural and Spiritual Tourism in Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark, Lang Son Province, Viet Nam

On June 6th, Lang Son Provincial Agency for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, in collaboration with Vietnam Expeditions Joint Stock Company, organized a pilot program for a cultural and spiritual tourism product themed “Journey of Healing and Discovery: Towards a Land of Serenity.” This is one of the new products developed to diversify the experiences for tourists, while effectively exploiting the unique cultural, historical, and geological of the locality.

The program is implemented at typical destinations in Tam Thanh and Luong Van Tri wards such as Tam Thanh Pagoda, Nhi Thanh Cave, Tien Pagoda, Mac Dynasty Citadel, and Thanh Pagoda. Beyond simply visiting and learning about the history of the historical sites, tourists can also experience many activities that connect them with nature and spiritual life, such as offering incense, lighting lotus lanterns, enjoying tea, and having vegetarian meals in the serene atmosphere of these spiritual locations.

In addition, the program incorporates cultural experiences such as wearing traditional costumes, applying makeup, getting their hair done, and taking souvenir photos at heritage sites. These experiences contribute to the unique character of the product and help tourists better understand the local cultural identity.

The pilot program of cultural and spiritual tourism combined with cultural experiences and photography not only meets the growing trend of "healing" tourism and experiential tourism, but also contributes to traditional education, fostering pride in the homeland, history, and national cultural identity. By dressing in traditional costumes, exploring the global geological heritage values, and listening to historical stories associated with Lang Son, tourists have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the local people and culture.

This new tourism product aims to create emotionally rich experiences, helping tourists relax, rejuvenate, and discover the outstanding of Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark. The results the pilot program will serve as a basis for the provincial tourism industry to continue researching and refining the product, improving service quality, and developing unique local tours.

In the coming period, the management board of Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark will continue to coordinate with relevant units to organize more experiential activities related to geological heritage and local culture, such as visiting Mai Pha archaeological site, Lang Son Ancient Citadel, Water Mother Goddess Temple, Ky Cung Temple, Ta Phu Temple, etc., experiencing the traditional making of mugwort cakes, and developing souvenir products bearing the brand of Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark. This will contribute to promoting the image of tourism in Lang Son, promoting the value of cultural, historical, and geological heritage, and fostering sustainable tourism development in the province.
