Spanning over a vast territory of 4,842.58 km2, with a population of about 627,500 people (equivalent to about 58% of the area and 78% of the population in the whole province), covering the entire administrative boundaries of the districts: Bac Son, Chi Lang, Huu Lung, Loc Binh, Van Quan, Lang Son city, part of the administrative boundaries of Binh Gia district and part of the administrative boundaries of Cao Loc district, Lang Son Geopark is a gem in the mountainous region of Northern Vietnam. It is a living testament, encapsulated in its diverse landscapes, to the journey through 500 million years of life's evolution. ancient seas and volcanic lands to ironwood forests, each facet of the Geopark tells a unique story. The Geopark is a brilliant tapestry of ethnic diversity, with contributions of unique customs and traditions each ethnic group. The spiritual life of the Geopark is deeply rooted in Mother Goddess Religion, a Mother Goddess worship religion recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The harmonious combination of natural history, cultural diversity and spiritual traditions makes Lang Son Geopark a unique destination.

The establishment, construction and development of Lang Son Geopark aims to preserve and promote the value of geological heritage, cultural heritage, history, archeology as well as the unique landscapes of the province. In which, the outstanding value of Lang Son Geopark includes 3 highlights: Geological heritage value (demonstrating the evolution of life through fossils), Cultural heritage value (tangible and intangible) and biodiversity. Currently, the Geopark has formed four tourist routes with 38 Geopark attractions with the theme "Life Evolution in the sacred Realms": Route 1: Experience the Realm of Mountain and Forest ; Route 2: Journey to the Realm of Heaven; Route 3: Enjoy the Realm of Earth; Route 4: Way to the Realm of Water. Lang Son Geopark is expected to be one of the breakthrough tourism products, attracting a large number of domestic and international tourists, contributing to promoting the province's tourism potential and strengths.

Binh Gia District is located on Lang Son Geopark Tourist Route No. 02 “Journey to the Realm of Heaven” with great potential for developing typical tourism products of the Geopark. Visitors will have a journey to learn about the first humans who appeared about 500,000 years ago, living together with a diverse world of flora and fauna, including giant apes, saber-toothed elephants and many other species of tigers, leopards, foxes, civets... at the famous archaeological site of Tham Khuyen - Tham Hai Caves in the southwest of the Geopark. Lang Son Geopark, a land rich in cultural heritage, is a living testament to the development of human civilization. Bac Son limestone block, one of the few places in Vietnam where prehistoric people settled early and continuously, is the cradle of life 500,000 years ago. Excavations have found teeth of ancient humans (Homo erectus) and giant apes (Gigantopithecus) as well as bones of contemporary wild animals, showing a rare symbiosis between these primitive creatures. Homo erectus Lang Son is believed to be an important link in the evolution and migration of primitive humans, strengthening evidence of the cradle of prehistoric humans in East and Southeast Asia. Teeth and bones of Homo sapiens have also been found in nearby caves, indicating the continuous presence of humans in this area.

Binh Gia district has a spectacular natural geological and geomorphological terrain, with beautiful caves, waterfalls, and sinkholes, containing countless attractive things. This will be a resource for the development of Geotourism (cave exploration, sport climbing, paragliding, trekking, waterfall crossing, sinkholes).

Binh Gia district preserves many intangible cultural heritage values. For example, the Then singing - Tinh lute ritual, an intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO, is very popular among the Tay and Nung ethnic minorities, in which Then masters perform dances and songs to pray for peace, blessings and prosperity. The lion and cat dance is a typical traditional cultural feature, indispensable during holidays and Tet... The lion and cat dance has many meanings, not only expressing the martial spirit of the people, but also symbolizing luck and happiness in life. Indigenous customs and knowledge are expressed through the traditional costumes of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups.

As a testament to the cultural diversity and rich heritage of Vietnam, the intangible cultural heritage of Binh Gia district in the Lang Son Geopark vividly illustrates the resilient will, creativity and adaptability of the people here. Lang Son Geopark is a place where different cultures, beliefs and customs coexist and interact, creating a unique cultural space. It is a place where the past and the present coexist, where tradition and innovation blend, and where the local and the global meet. It is a place that invites us to reflect on our own cultural identity and values, while appreciating the richness and diversity of human culture.

With the above values, Binh Gia district has great potential to develop typical tourism products of a UNESCO Global Geopark. Coming to Binh Gia district, visitors will have mysterious and unique journeys of discovery, with memorable experiences.
