On April 11-12, 2023 Lang Son Geopark Management Board cooperated with KOTO Co., Ltd., Bac Son District Culture and Information Division, Huu Lung District Culture and Information Division, Vu Lang Commune People's Committee to successfully organize the training course "Introducing some standard sauces" and "Decorating dishes" Contest for homestays and restaurants in Lang Son Geopark.

There were 60 participants in the training course representing homestay households and some restaurants in Bac Son and Huu Lung districts. In the program, the Geopark Management Board organized the opening training course "Introducing some standard sauces for dishes" for homestays and restaurants in Lang Son Geopark. After the training program was a contest "Decorating dishes". Accordingly, representatives of homestays and restaurants were divided seven teams, each team processed some typical dishes of Lang Son Geopark, in which the use of local ingredients is given priority criteria for scoring dishes including balance of nutrition (protein, starch, vitamins ....), prioritizing the use of indigenous ingredients and decorating dishes with color coordination, harmonious and eye-catching shapes...

At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded one first prize, one second prize, two third prizes, three consolation prizes to the teams with excellent achievements.

The program was a great success, contributing to improving the construction and development capacity of Lang Son Geopark to meet UNESCO’s criteria for the recognition of a Global Geopark, United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (elimination of poverty, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, sustainable communities, sustainable production and consumption responsibility, climate action).
