The BEAUJOLAIS UNESCO Global Geopark
The Geopark was recognized as a Global Geopark in 2018. It is located in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, southeast France. It is benefited an exceptional geological diversity formed over nearly 500 million years. Three types of terrain characterizing the region are the Val de Saône plain to the east, the wine-growing region consisting of gentle slopes interrupted by wooded valleys and the Beaujolais mountain range extending to the west and reaching elevation of more than 1,000 meters at the border of the region.

Beaujolais Nouveau Wine Festival (on the Third Thursday in November each year): Beaujolais is world-famous for its Beaujolais Nouveau wines such as new wines intended for drinking in the months after the grape harvest - rapidly produced to be marketed and consumed quickly; Low acrid wine - strong aroma, easy to drink and called "refreshing wine". “A local festival has been exported - “french tradition”- The image of a joyful and happy France - The winemakers and growers open cellar doors exactly 12 o'clock at night on Wednesdays to everyone. The restaurant owners offer Beaujolais-themed menus and all the villages celebrate by offering crafts through various events.
