Survey and Assessment of Tourism Development Potential in Lang Son Geopark area

          On July 12, 2024, the Management Board of Lang Son Geopark organized a survey team to evaluate the potential for cooperation in tourism development in the Lang Son Geopark area. Participants included representatives of Lang Son Geopark Management Board, leaders and staff of Four Points by Sheraton Lang Son Hotel and Marriott Group, relevant organizations and individuals the districts of Cao Loc, Van Quan, Binh Gia, and Bac Son.

          Within the working program, the survey team explored several locations on tourist route No.2 in the Lang Son Geopark area, including Dong Dang Mother Goddess Temple, Khanh Khe Bridge (Cao Loc district), Rock Chaos, Xu Lang Healing Anise Oil, Xu Lang Anise Forest (Van Quan district), Tham Khuyen - Tham Hai Cave (Binh Gia district), Tile Traditional Village, Tay Cultural Village, Lang Son Geopark Information Center, Keng Tao Cave (Bac Son district).

          At each tourist site, locals introduced the geological, archaeological, and historical of the sites, as well as distinctive local cultural traditions, customs, folk songs, traditional costumes, and crafts. The survey team discussed and proposed long-term cooperation solutions to promote tourism development in the Lang Son Geopark area. Key suggestions included enhancing communication efforts to introduce the values, routes, and tourist attractions of Lang Son Geopark; Featuring characteristic images of Lang Son Geopark area on the Marriott Group's information network to attract international tourists and travel agencies; Promoting Lang Son Geopark tourist routes to guests at Four Points by Sheraton Lang Son; Coordinating to organize events at the hotel; Collaborating with travel companies to develop Lang Son Geopark tourism routes and provide lodging services at Four Points by Sheraton Lang Son.

          The survey trip was successful, unveiling numerous tourism development potentials for the Geopark area, creating opportunities to showcase the culture, people, and beautiful natural landscapes of the LSGP to both domestic and international tourists.
