On May 23, the Lang Son Geopark Management Board coordinated with the Advisory Group on the construction and development of Lang Son Geopark in Binh Gia district and related units to successfully organize the contest about Geoparks and Phai Lua Festival within the framework of Phai Lua Festival in Binh Gia district in 2023. The contest attracted a large number of people to watch, cheer and learn about geological heritage, cultural heritage, Lang Son Geopark and Phai Lua Festival because the contest is part of the series of events of Phai Lua Festival in Hong Phong commune.

Contestants 19 communes and townships participated in the Contest

The contest received the attention, direction and close coordination of relevant agencies and units, the active participation of 19 communes, townships and contestants in Binh Gia district.

The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the contestants including one First Prize, one Second Prize, three Third Prizes, 10 consolation prizes for the contestants and 10 gifts for the audience.

The contest contributes to improving the effectiveness of propaganda and education on culture, traditional history, geological heritage, Lang Son Geopark and Phai Lua Festival; diversify forms of propaganda and education on geological heritage, Lang Son Geopark and Phai Lua Festival in 19 communes and townships; create opportunities for people to show their understanding and passion to learn about local culture, history, heritage, knowledge and scenic values; provide a useful playground for people to exchange, share and improve knowledge; build and develop a team of collaborators to propagate, create communication effects, and promote geoheritage, cultural heritage, Lang Son Geopark and Phai Lua Festival to all classes of people and tourists. Since then, it helps improve the quality of education and international integration in the Lang Son Geopark area, contributing to the successful construction and development of Lang Son Geopark, meeting the criteria and requirements of UNESCO in the recognition of a Global Geopark.
