The Steering Board for Lang Son Global Geopark Construction held a meeting on building Lang Son Geopark infrastructure (parking lots, sighseeing platforms, a system of panels, landscaping, 2D/3D silhouettes...). Mr. Nguyen Dang An, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Standing Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for Lang Son Global Geopark Construction chaired the meeting with the participation of  the leader and official of the Office of the Provincial People's Committee; Representatives of Departments: Natural Resources and Environment, Construction, Transport, Finance, Planning and Investment; leaders of the People's Committee, specialized divisions and relevant communes of the districts: Bac Son, Binh Gia, Cao Loc, Chi Lang, Huu Lung, Loc Binh, Van Quan and Lang Son city; Representatives of Son Geopark partners and consulting units.

In recent times, member agencies of the Steering Committee and related units have been very active in constructing infrastructure for four tourist routes in the Lang Son Geopark area; advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue the Official Document No. 1714/UBND-KGVX dated November 27, 2023 to Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO on the request to facilitate sending a Diplomatic Note to submit Lang Son Geopark Dossier  to UNESCO for appraising and recognizing Lang Son Geopark as a Global Geopark. On November 30, 2023, Vietnam National  Commission for UNESCO sent the Diplomatic Note to submit Lang Son Geopark Dossier  to UNESCO for appraising and recognizing Lang Son Geopark as a Global Geopark.

Delegates attending the meeting

At the meeting, delegates discussed, proposed and agreed specific solutions to realize the task of building Lang Son Geopark infrastructure. They showed their strong determination to complete the building of infrastructure by April 2024 in the spirit of the direction of the Provincial People's Committee in the Official Document No.1268/UBND-KGVX of the Provincial People's Committee dated September 16, 2023 on accelerating the progress of implementing tasks in the Project of establishing, building and developing Lang Son Geopark for the period of 2021-2025.
