In order to continue implementing the task of building and developing Lang Son Geopark according to the guidelines and the plan of the Provincial People's Committee. At the same time, implementing UNESCO's recommendations on the construction and development of Global Geoparks, including the criterion of  “strengthening cooperation and exchange relations with the global Geoparks network” in domestic and international regions. Lang Son Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is going to cooperate with the Specialized Subcommittee on Vietnam Global Geoparks to organize the Annual Conference of the Specialized Subcommittee on Vietnam Global Geoparks in 2023 in Lang Son province.

The annual conference is a regular meeting, exchange and discussion event of members of the Specialized Subcommittee on Vietnam Global Geoparks. The conference will approve the report on the work results of the Subcommittee in the first six months of the year, the direction and tasks for the last six months of 2023; speeches and discussions by representatives of the UNESCO Global Geopark Management Boards in Vietnam (Dong Van Kasrt Plateau, Cao Bang Non Nuoc, Dak Nong) and Lang Son Geopark Management Board. Exchanging and sharing experiences in the construction and development of Geoparks, the process of completing the Dossier to submit to UNESCO for recognition of a Global Geopark in localities and so on.

The annual conference on the Vietnam Global Geoparks Specialized Subcommittee in 2023 is an opportunity for Lang Son province to strengthen connection activities, cooperation and experience sharing, thereby gradually building and developing Lang Son Geoparks towards the title of UNESCO Global Geopark, contributing roles and responsibilities to the Vietnam Global Geoparks network.

The activities on the sidelines of the Conference include field visit, experience tour, exchange of practical experience at some routes of Lang Son Geopark which are expected to be built such as Mother Goddess worship heritage at Bac Le Temple; paleontological value at Na Duong coal mine; traditional craft villages and natural landscape in Lang Son Geopark. In addition, it will combine with organizing a training conference on important contents of the Geopark that are regulated by the Law on Environmental Protection in 2020 and disseminate a number of regulations related to construction, managing and developing geoparks, sharing about the model of the geopark management board; Lang Son Geopark Partnership Agreement Signing Ceremony.
