Lang Son Geopark Management Board met with foreign partners in Ha noi
October 18 to 20, 2024, Lang Son Geopark Management Board met with a number of foreign partners in Hanoi, including LIXIL Vietnam - a subsidiary of LIXIL Group (Japan); Mr. Pham Van Manh, Director of Vietnam Expeditions Company (Vietnam Expeditions Joint Stock Company, also known as Vietnam Expeditions, is an adventure travel company specializing in providing unique and safe tours to the most pristine and mysterious places in Vietnam) - Vice President of Hanoi Cave Club, Mr. Alexander Scott Reed - Member of the American Cave Association and Member of Hanoi Cave Club, Mr. Kevin John Ditamore - Member of the American Cave Association and Member of Hanoi Cave Club (attending online); Dr. Guy Martini - Senior Expert of the Global Geoparks Network. At the working sessions, the participants discussed a number of contents related to the construction of the Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark Complex Center - Lang Son Provincial Museum, the Lang Son Geopark Community House & Homestay Architecture Design Competition; the possibility of cooperation in exploiting the Geopark cave system as attractive destinations for domestic and international tourists. Besides, Lang Son Geopark Management Board attended a meeting at the Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources and discussed the activities of the Vietnam Global Geoparks Network.

Following the working trip, Lang Son Geopark Management Board continued to maintain regular contact with LIXIL Vietnam (co-organizing the Architectural Design Competition for Lang Son Geopark Community Houses & Homestays under the LIXIL Talent Match - A&D Internship & Talent Development Program in Lang Son Geopark on November 2, 2024, promoting cooperation in building and developing Lang Son Geopark); Vietnam Expeditions Company, members of the American Cave Association (organizing a working trip to Lang Son province, exchanging and surveying some caves with potential for tourism development in Lang Son Geopark expected in November 2024); Senior experts of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network, promoting cooperation in consulting on building and developing Lang Son Geopark; Strengthening international integration and cooperation, participating in activities of the Vietnam Global Geoparks Network and the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network.
